Combination of Drotaverine Hydrochloride & Mefenamic Acid Tablets

Biotic Healthcare offers Taver-M tablets which contain a dual drug novel combination of drotaverine hydrochloride and mefenamic acid. It is an anti-spasmodic medicine that mainly used to treat spasmodic dysmenorrhoea, colic pains such as intestinal, ureteric, and biliary colic. Make sure never use this tablet, if you have previously exhibited hypersensitivity or other NSAID allergies in your body. Patient with severe peptic ulcer and bleeding disorder should not be prescribed to take this specific tablet because it may cause serious health problems.

Drotaverine hydrochloride salt is used to prevent the establishment of phosphodiesterase-IV (PDE-4) which exerts a contractile action in smooth muscles. The major pharmacological action of drotaverine hydrochloride is direct and fast to the smooth muscles exist in the abdominal cavity. Direct restriction of cyclic AMP (cAMP) means the improvement of calcium levels in the spastic tissues and relieve smooth muscle spasm.

Mefenamic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which relieves the symptom of pains by restriction of pain mediators connected with cyclooxygenase pathway. Drotaverine + Mefenamic acid should be taken after or before your meal. The specific tablet is usually contraindicated in people with severe hepatic, CVD, porphyria and renal disorders.
