This dry syrup works against mild to moderate bacterial infections like otitis media, acute maxillary sinusitis, pharyngitis/tonsillitis, acute community-acquired pneumonia, urinary tract, and urethral gonorrhea. This antibacterial medication helps in stopping the growth of bacteria in the human body.

Cefpodoxime Proxetil is a semi-synthetics antibiotic belongs to cephalosporin class and provided as flavored granules for oral suspension. Cefpodoxime works as a bactericidal agent and performs its activity through inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis. It performs its action in the existence of some beta-lactamases- both penicillinases as well as cephalosporinases, of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.

This medication is expected to be harmful if it is taken in larger amount, or for longer duration without recommended by your doctor.
